The CalliSattvas are works and compositions based on calligraphy that evolved into a new abstraction and encryption, within this calligraphic style, I developed an aesthetic and a way to generate characters and graphics to create my own symbolism, which I call: Callisattva.
What is the CalliSattva concept?
❖ CALIGRAPHY + SATTVA = CALLISATTVA :
Calligraphy to balance and purify the body ❖
Sattva is interpreted as a mind in a pure, stable, and balanced state.
The mental state of Sattva is where one chooses to balance the body and mind for more transcendental practices, allowing the body to nourish itself, so that the physical does not become an impediment to achieving life's goals, a search where We nourish ourselves to thrive, not to make nourishment the goal of life.
The CalliSattva I generate can be short encrypted phrases in these symbols or simply abstract graphics, where the flow of each stroke generates a rhythm that evokes a sensation or emotion, the rhythm is what I like to capture.
Another aspect that captivates me about this process is that these symbols and words are a mystery to the unknowing eye, an encoded message that equally attracts attention for its beauty and patterns, dressing the skin along with the execution technique.
✦ Hidden in plain sight ✦
Something that is there but not everyone knows exactly what it says; it is up to each wearer of these pieces to reveal the message.
"In times where everything is so visible, having something visible but private is a concept that attracts me, I like to capture and incorporate it into my works."
